Being safe in the white winter wonderworld

After this one-day course you will be acquainted with the key rules of avalanche safety and awareness in preparation for your next independent snowshoe tour. Theory and practice will alternate and complement one another. The course contents include tour planning, 3x3 (the Reduction Method), avalanche transceiver signal searches, recognising avalanche risk factors and much more.

Ascent: 09.50 hrs. The mountain guide from the BERGFALKE Alpine School will await you at the Chrindi halfway station. We will start with an introductory section on avalanche theory. This will be followed by a practical element in the field. Many practical skills, tips and techniques will be taught here. 'Breaking' a trail, regard for animals and nature, equipment recommendations, avalanche safety and awareness.

Course completion: 16.45 hrs Erlenbach i.S.

Requirements: Previous snowshoe tour experience is not necessary.

Participants: Min. 5, max. 8 participants per mountain guide

Meal: Packed lunch from rucksack

Insurance: Adequate accident insurance is the responsibility of course participants.

Weather conditions: This course will take place in all weather conditions.
